In the Fall of 2005, Georgetown saw the opening of the Round Rock Higher Education Center. Post-secondary schooling has rich roots in Georgetown. The community is home to two junior colleges and the Higher Education Center is dedicated to providing local residents with access to degrees and certificates from Texas State University, Austin Community College, and Temple College in the Texas town of Taylor.

The labor force in Georgetown is growing at the speed of light. During the eleven year period between 1990 and 2001, Georgetown's workforce shot up by more than one hundred percent. Georgetown labor's largest industries are in health, social services, and education. McMaster Field: Crowned four times by the National Softball Association as a state of the art facility, Georgetown's McMaster Field features four fields for softball, in-line hockey facilities, and two tournament sized soccer fields. But McMaster doesn't just cater to contact sports, the facility's tennis center boasts eleven tennis courts overlooking an expansive swimming pool. Hiking and biking trails expand ten miles, serving as Georgetown's ultimate connection to a nearby lake and camping grounds.

San Gabriel Park: Georgetowners have found their very own saint in San Gabriel Park. A local summer gem, lined with trees that have witnessed two generations, San Gabriel Park has found popularity as a host of Frisbee tournaments, canoing, swimming, and concerts.

Blue Hole: Nestled next to the cozy San Gabriel River, and just one mile Southwest of San Gabriel Park, the Blue Hole is a summer favorite for a quick dip.
