Quaintly nestled just outside the active city of Austin is the diverse Village of Bee Cave. The Village of Bee Cave, also affectionately coined Bee Caves, is located twenty miles west of Austin, Texas, and features a plethora of job and economic opportunities amongst it’s top attractions. Natural Adventures in Bee Cave Village
If there’s one thing that the Village of Bee Cave has a lot of it’s the opportunity to embark on a natural excursion. The Village of Bee Cave is home to the outstanding grandeur of the Highland Lakes. And of the seven bodies of water that combine to make up the impressive Highland Lakes faction, Bee Cave’s own Lake Travis is the most expressive and serves as one of Bee Cave Village’s premier attractions.
Lake Travis is situated thirty miles northwest of Austin, Texas, and winds on for sixty miles, ultimately ending up in the central valley of the Texas Hill Country. Formed as the byproduct of the John J. Mansfield Dam, a 1942 marvel, Lake Travis is the longest of the Highland Lakes. And the widest, too. Measuring in at four and a half inches wide, Lake Travis is a Bee Cave jewel and glorious all year around. Some of the most popular past-times on Lake Travis include:

Lake Travis’ elevation sits at 681 feet above mean sea level when full. Lake Travis’ volume is 1,131,650 acre-feet when full. On Christmas Day 1991, Bee Cave’s Lake Travis reached a historic high when the water capped off at 710.4 feet above sea level. And that was nearly forty years after Lake Travis reached a historic low at 614.2 feet above mean sea level on August 14, 1951. Lake Travis’ normal range of operation is at or below 681 mean sea level. The lake, which is monitored by the Lower Colorado River Authority, is mainly feed into by fellow Highland body of water, the Colorado River.

The Arboreteum, located at 10000 Research Boulevard, is one of Bee Cave’s leading shopping excursions. Barton Creek Square Mall joins the Arboreteum as one of Bee Cave, Texas’ top shopping attractions. And be sure to keep one eye cocked on Bee Cave’s community of shoppers in the Fall of 2007 with the projected Grand Opening of a new retail Galleria.
Randall’s Grocery Store, off of RR 620 in Lakeway, serves the Bee Cave resident with a love for Mom and Pop retail. As does HEB Grocery Store at the corner of Highway 71 and Bee Caves.
